Desert eagle.Weighing at an almost 5 pounds, the stout Desert Eagle has always been in demand for two-fisted handling. Now, Magnum Research is proud to introduce two lighter weight models which make a noticeable difference when handling the pistol although two hands are still recommended for most shooters. The Eagle L5 and L6 are lighter by a pound or two respectively in comparison to other similar Eagle products.
Magnum Research has introduced two new, all stainless steel versions of its iconic Desert Eagle handgun. These pistols are completely manufactured in the U.S.A. and feature stainless steel frames, slides, barrels and one model has an integral muzzle brake.
“No handgun is tougher looking than our Eagle.” said Frank Harris, Vice President of sales and marketing for Magnum Research, Inc. “The Desert Eagle has always been considered a bit of a beast, but now, with the rugged stainless steel frame, slide and barrel, black appointments, and the new picatinny bottom rail for accessories, it has a very distinctive new look. This high quality stainless steel model has an overpowering appearance at the gun counter and at the range, and it will be much easier to repair minor scratches than some of our custom finish models.”
Initially offered in two .50 A.E. configurations, the stainless steel Eagle is available in a standard 6-inch barrel version and another with an integral muzzle brake for reducing recoil and muzzle flip. Both pistols measure overall lengths of 10.75-inches with 8.5-inch sight radiuses, however the 4 lb. 7 oz. muzzle brake version weighs 1-oz. less than the standard model.
The new integral muzzle brake is a change from the add-on brake that Magnum Research has used for several years and is available at a lower price than its predecessor. This muzzle brake design is also now available on black-frame DE50, DE44 and DE357 models, though it is currently unknown if the integral muzzle brake will replace existing offerings in the Eagle lineup.
The new Magnum Research stainless t Eagle pistol has an MSRP of $1,793 for the 6-inch barrel version and $1,931 for the integral muzzle brake model. The black .50 A.E. Desert Eagle with integral muzzle brake costs $1,742, while the same model chambered for .44 Magnum and .357 MagnumDesert Eagle pistols are each available for $1,710.
